To restore the quality of the site surrounding the Mont, areas which are now devoted to car parks and the road dike will be returned to their natural state. The Mont will completely rediscover its maritime soul.

the Maritime Character Restoration(RCM)
The RCM is part of a huge ambitious project to return the soul to one of the cultural and spiritual Meccas of humanity and to bring back the original mystery to one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.
The purpose of the work is:
- To restore the natural character of the shores of the Mont: future footbridge
- To push back the sediment that has accumulated around Mont-Saint-Michel and to strengthen the flow of the Couesnon: future weir
- To offer services to visitors and an information centre on the Bay: future landscaped car park
- To connect the car park to the Mont and to offer a daily year round service adapted to the frequency of visitor arrivals: future shuttle
