Tourism

The tourist industry is essential to the economy of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel.

Although there are more than three million visitors to the rock and its abbey every year, there are lots of sites and places to visit for the inquisitive tourist all around the Bay: tour of the houses of the Bay, "sentiers des douaniers" (customs officer patrol path), Bay crossings allowing you cross the shores to the Mont on foot, the seaside resorts of Jullouville and Saint-Jean-Le-Thomas, towns of historical interest such as Cancale, Dol-de-Bretagne, Avranches and Granville, walking, sand yachting, horse-riding and nature outings are some of the many things you can do in the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel.
